Denver Safe Outdoor Spaces

With the COVID-19 pandemic came significant economic downturn, a drastic increase in homelessness, and a unique challenge: How were the unsheltered expected to “shelter at home?” Safe Outdoor Spaces were developed to provide a sanctioned, temporary, COVID-safe environment for our unhoused neighbors. Project Moxie partnered with nonprofit organizations to help navigate political challenges, engage the community, and see this idea through to fruition.
